Weighbridge Software That Weighs, Verifies and Gates a Truck — With No One in the Booth.
SynchPlus ONE is weighbridge software for South African mines, quarries, recyclers and bulk-material yards. Read the weight straight off the indicator, identify the vehicle by ANPR, RFID or your gate system, validate the load against its order, drive the boom and post the transaction to your ERP. One audit trail from the gate to the general ledger.
Why Most Weighbridges Leak Time, Tonnes and Trust
A weighbridge is where money changes hands by the tonne. Yet in most operations it is still a manned booth, a ticket book and a spreadsheet that gets re-typed into the ERP later.
A Manned Booth Is a Bottleneck
Every lane needs a clerk on every shift. When the clerk is on a break, the queue grows. When the clerk is tired, numbers get keyed wrong. Labour cost and throughput are tied to how many people you can put in booths.
Keyed Weights Start Disputes
When gross, tare and vehicle details are typed by hand, a single digit becomes a supplier dispute or a shrinkage line you can't explain. There is no proof the number on the ticket is the number the scale showed.
The Gate and the Bridge Are Islands
Your access-control system knows who came in. Your weighbridge knows what was weighed. Nothing proves the two belong to the same truck, and the boom isn't driven by the weigh outcome.
The ERP Finds Out Days Later
Weigh transactions are re-entered into SAP or Sage after the fact. Finance works on stale numbers, goods receipts lag the physical movement by hours or days, and there is no single audit trail when an auditor asks.
One Platform Across the Scale, the Gate and the ERP
SynchPlus ONE treats the weighbridge as part of your operation — not a stand-alone ticket printer. Every weigh is linked to the vehicle, the order, the material and the money.
Automatic Weight Capture
Reads the scale indicator directly over serial (RS-232) or TCP/IP. Gross, tare and net captured with no operator keying. One-pass weighing with stored tares, or two-pass gross-in / tare-out — configured to your process.
Weighbridge Ticketing
A weigh ticket is generated for every transaction and kept on an audit trail. In attended yards, draft tickets are reviewed before they post to stock, so a supervisor signs off before anything hits the books.
Vehicle Auto-Identification
Identify the truck on approach by ANPR number-plate recognition, RFID tag, or the identity handed over from your gate system. Matched to its booking or purchase order on arrival. Unknown vehicles fall back to a driver kiosk.
Validate Against the Order
The load is checked against the purchase order or inbound delivery before the truck is released. Tolerances and business rules are applied automatically, and safety or permit checks can be required before a weigh is allowed.
Boom & Traffic-Light Control
On a valid weigh the traffic lights and boom are driven automatically. On an exception the driver is directed to the kiosk or intercom, and a supervisor can approve or reject remotely. Every override is logged.
ERP Posting (SAP S/4HANA, Sage)
Post the completed weigh as a goods movement — goods receipt against PO, stock transfer or return — via OData, BAPI-RFC, IDoc or SAP CPI / PI-PO. Connectors are built to your interfaces through our Open Integration adapter.
Bulk Stock by Grade
For recyclers and bulk yards: weigh in by grade, price per grade, and post straight to bulk stock with weighted-average costing. Live balances per grade or bin, with a full stock ledger behind every number.
Resilient On-Premise Lane
The weighbridge controller runs on-site with a local database. If SAP, your gate system or the internet is briefly unreachable, transactions queue locally and settle automatically when the link returns.
Tonnage & Throughput Dashboards
Full transaction and exception logs, reconciliation against orders, and tonnage and throughput dashboards per bridge, per lane and — for multi-site operators — rolled up to head office.
Identify → Weigh → Validate → Gate
Each truck completes the full weigh transaction on its own. Only exceptions need a person — and those are handled remotely.
Identify
ANPR, RFID or your gate-entry system reads the vehicle on approach and matches it to its booking or purchase order.
Weigh
The weight is read straight off the scale indicator — gross, tare and net — with no manual keying and no clerk in the booth.
Validate
The load is checked against the PO or inbound delivery pulled from your ERP, with tolerances and safety rules applied.
Gate & Post
Lights and boom are driven automatically, the ticket is issued, and the transaction posts back to your ERP and gate system.
Attended mode is the same engine. Scrap yards and recyclers who want a person at the bridge use the same capture, ticketing and stock posting — with the supplier, material grade, photos and Second-Hand Goods register entry attached to the weigh. See scrap yard management and recycling software.
Your Gate System In. Your ERP Out.
Most weighbridge packages stop at the ticket. SynchPlus ONE sits between the physical lane, your gate-entry system and your ERP, and orchestrates all three.
Gate entry (for example, Nimbus). Our gate layer is provider-agnostic: a generic gate-entry record — vehicle, driver, ID, photo, timestamp, activity — sits behind a thin, configurable adapter. Your access-control system hands over the authorised identity on arrival, and the weigh result (passed, rejected or re-weigh) tells the gate whether to raise or hold the boom. Licence-disc and PDP validation, photo capture and the activity log come with the gate layer.
ERP (SAP S/4HANA, Sage). We pull the purchase order, inbound delivery and material and vendor master to validate and auto-fill the transaction, then post the completed weigh as a goods movement. For SAP that means goods receipt against PO, stock transfer or return — through standard SAP channels, with no changes to your SAP core.
Anything else with an API or a feed. The Open Integration adapter is a customisable layer for site-specific requirements: a marketplace, a supplier feed, a device. It is deployed as a satellite service, so it works on-premise too.

How we start: a short technical discovery workshop to confirm your indicator protocol, one-pass or two-pass process, gate interface, ERP channel and lane hardware. You get a detailed design and a fixed-scope proposal, then we prove it on one live lane before rolling out.
Weighbridge, Gate and ERP — Usually Three Vendors. This Is One.
Point weighbridge software prints a ticket. SynchPlus ONE runs the lane and connects it to everything that happens before and after the weigh.
| Capability | Manned Booth / Point Weighbridge Software | SynchPlus ONE |
|---|---|---|
| Operator required | Booth clerk per lane, per shift | Unattended — exceptions only |
| Vehicle capture | Manual keying | ANPR / RFID / gate handover |
| Gate-entry link | Separate system | Two-way gate integration |
| ERP posting | Export and re-key | Goods movement posted to SAP; Sage Pastel export |
| Connectivity loss | Often stops the lane | Queues locally, settles later |
| Deployment | Vendor-hosted or desktop-only | On-premise, offline-capable — or cloud |
| Fits the rest of your operation | Weighbridge only | Same platform as fleet, gate, stock and assets |

Weighbridge Software FAQ
Common questions from weighbridge, gate and ERP teams.
Unattended weighbridge software runs the full weigh transaction without an operator in the booth. The truck is identified by ANPR, RFID or your gate system, the weight is read directly off the scale indicator, the load is validated against its order, the ticket is generated and the boom is raised automatically. Only exceptions need a person, and SynchPlus ONE routes those to a driver kiosk or a remote supervisor override.
SynchPlus ONE captures weight directly from the scale indicator over a serial (RS-232) or TCP/IP connection. During a short discovery workshop we confirm your indicator make, model and protocol, and whether you run one-pass weighing with stored tares or two-pass weighing (gross in, tare out). The capture is then commissioned on your lane.
Yes, through our Open Integration adapter. For SAP S/4HANA we pull the purchase order, inbound delivery and material master to validate the load, then post the completed weigh back as a goods movement using the channel your SAP team exposes — OData or S/4 APIs, BAPI-RFC, IDoc, or SAP CPI / PI-PO middleware. Connectors are built and tested against your specific interfaces during the pilot, so the scope is confirmed before any price is fixed.
The lane keeps weighing. SynchPlus ONE runs on-premise at the weighbridge with its own local database, so transactions queue locally and post to the ERP and gate system automatically when the link returns. A weighbridge should never stop because head-office connectivity dropped.
Not necessarily. We work with the ANPR cameras, RFID readers, boom barriers, traffic lights, LED displays and driver kiosks you already have. Where hardware is missing, it is quoted separately with a hardware partner and commissioned per site. The weighbridge capture, gate control logic and integration framework are already built.
No. Scrap yards, recyclers and bulk-material yards use SynchPlus ONE for attended weighbridge ticketing — gross, tare and net captured by grade, linked to the supplier, the Second-Hand Goods register and stock. Mines, quarries and processing plants use the unattended mode. Both run on the same platform as your fleet, gate and inventory.
